In Beta Hell

Why can't this be easy???

Had blood drawn this morning. It was crazy, busy at the RE's today. When I arrived at 8am there were 7 women sitting in the waiting room. Because I was just there for blood work, I only waited about 15 minutes.

My phone finally rang at about 10:20 EST.

The RE was on the other end. My heart leaped out of my chest, and my brain immediately started thinking the worst. On Wednesday, the nurse called. If HE'S calling, it can't be good.

The number today 65. It *almost* doubled.

He says it's still a little low, but at least it went up. I agree. Game plan? We'll redraw on Tuesday, give it 4 days, and see what we get. I'm not sure how I feel. I want to remain positive, but I just don't know.

What do I know?

I'm am by NO means reassured. My doctor is not reassured. All we can do is wait.

And pray.

  1. Well it was very close to doubling though...

I know what you are thinking. Hang tight and think positive thoughts... I am wishing the very best for you.

  2. HCG should double within 48-72 hours. Usually it goes up 60% in the first 48 hours but it goes up 100% around 72 hours.

    I wouldn't give up hope!

  3. Oh gosh, I know the feeling. My early beta did not double either, but it did go up. So far things are still looking good for me, but that was really scary to get news like that in the beginning. I still think about that early beta when I am feeling anxious and wonder if it is a sign...sigh...

I know that won't make things any better for you, but it is possible that everything is okay. I will be hoping that your 2nd beta is easily doubled and that your baby is okay! You are in my thoughts! That is such a long wait to find out :(

  7. I know, from personal experience, how hard it is to wait with numbers like that. Its so hard to have faith.

    I'll be praying for you!

  8. Oh, this weekend is going to be such a long wait- that SUCKS. Have you checked out www dot betabase dot info? I used that site like crazy in my first few weeks for reassurance. You would be surprised how much variance there is in people's results, and how many "almost doubling" people get to heartbeats.

I'll be thinking of you, and will check in as soon as I can next week for your news. Big a** hug, lady. :)

  13. I hate beta hell! I'm a regular visitor as well, and there is just nothing worse that waiting -- trying to be optimistic, yet wanting to protect our fragile heart from more disappointment.

    Thinking about you!!

  14. I am sorry you're worried. I have hope for you - the fact that it was close I think is important. But I know how worried you must be so my number one wish for you is for the time you have to wait goes realllllly fast.

  16. Joy sent me over to you and I just had to say that one of my girlfriends has B/G twins and her first beta was 17. Yes, TWINS and that low beta.

That being said, I know prayers never hurt. I will send extras. I am so sorry that you are in beta hell right now.
