Big Thanks & 28 Weeks

You are all the BEST!

I've gotten such good ideas for seeing what can be done, if anything...and now I have an idea of what to ask, look for, etc.

I can not thank you enough...this is what I love about our IF community.

As for the insurance crap, not much has changed.

I spent most of the day yesterday on the phone with HR, who was making multiple calls on my behalf. We keep getting conflicting information, so we're just going to keep badgering them for now.

The big problem is that without a group or policy #....which I can't find out, because we aren't "officially" on this insurance...the hospital can't give me an answer. People in the contract department at the hospital say that they have a contract with the insurance company as of January 1st of this year, but the insurance company says they don't.

I go back to the doctor on Monday, and I'll start talking to her about it.

Another milestone today, as I'm officially 28 weeks along with the twins!

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good and can't complain too much.

I do tire easily.

I'm starting to have daily ankle swelling...but it gets better at night when I put my feet up. Shoes are a problem. Right now, I have about 2 pairs that I can comfortably wear...barely.

At work, I walk in, immediately take my shoes off, and put on a pair of slippers. I don't put my shoes back on until it's time to leave. I look ridiculous, but I don't care...comfort is key.

This week, every night between 6:30 and 7:30pm, I've started to have heartburn.

So far, TUMS are my friend...and are working.

Everyday I am amazed that I am still pregnant and feeling good.

Our goal for me carrying the twins is 38, we could have babies in 10 weeks!

  1. Congrats on 28 weeks!!!

Ugh, the swelling. I can't believe I'm hardly even on my feet and mine are still like balloons! So sexy.

  2. I get lovely indigestion every day around 6 myself and as of now TUMS help and I love them!! Happy 28 weeks! Hoping everything works out with your insurance.

  3. Yeah for 28 weeks! My ankles swelled badly too. I had one pair of flip flops that fit toward the end but I went for comfort as well. Amazing how little people care about what you are wearing when you are pregnant with twins. HA!

  4. Keep at it. Amazingly, my doc was a great resource for info and SHE was the one who told me that my insurance company had re-signed a new contract NOT my insurance company. Assholes!

I am so excited that you made it to 28 weeks. Hopefully the next 10 weeks will be uneventful and not too exhausting. Crossing our fingers and toes that those two stay put until the time is ready for you to meet them. :)

  5. YAY for 28 weeks! It is hard to believe how soon they will be here!

  6. So late with my reply, but OH, how I hear you on the swelling! My GOSH, it's ridiculous. I usually wear three-strap birkenstocks and now when I take them off, I have two giant pillow-puffs on top of my feet where the straps have segmented my poor feet...

And yes. Heartburn. Oh, my, the heartburn. I chow on Tums several times a day, but I also take a pepcid in the morning (and if it's bad, sometimes in the evening, too.).

And isn't it weird to think about how little time is left before the babies get here??? My doc keeps saying, "at least 36 weeks", which for me could be as soon as FOUR WEEKS from now!!! Totally, completely SURREAL!!!
