I swear that is all I do anymore.
This week, I think I have fallen back asleep every day after putting Miss O. on the bus. For a good hour, hour and a half. Then I wake with a start and realize I need to be to work in 40 minutes, I haven't ate breakfast or showered.
It's quite the routine.
I can sleep at anytime. I feel like I'm back at the first trimester, when I couldn't keep my eyes open in the evening, and napping whenever I sit down.
Work has been killer this week. I'm sure it's not helping.
At my appointment on Monday, the doctor asked again when I was going to stop working.
My answer? "When you tell me to..."
With no official maternity leave, I only have FMLA to fall back on. I'm scared that if they take me off now, I won't have any time left after the babies are born.
Otherwise it was an easy appointment. I was up 4 more pounds, for a total of 30. My blood pressure was awesome at 106/75. Everything looks good.
I go back in 2 weeks for another appointment and an ultrasound. Hopefully, the babies will have grown quite a bit and look good.
Until then, *yawn*, I'll be resting...
Delighted all is well, sorry you feel so tired, I have the feeling it won't be much better when the babies arrive! So sleep as much as possible until you can. much love, Fran
ReplyDeleteNo maternity leave? What? That is crazy talk. I would do what you're doing and save up all the FMLA you can...
ReplyDeleteYAWN. thanks. now I need a nap.
We are going to be in the poorhouse, but boy am I glad to NOT be working!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, our year ends in June and starts in July, so I get two FMLA's. I'm so lucky! Sorry, not bragging...
Anyway, ever since 20 weeks or so, I'd been falling asleep on the couch around 7 PM EVERY night, AND not sleeping well, not eating as well as I should have been. Now I am sleeping and eating MUCH better. Pregnancy is so incredibly tiring.
I'm glad that otherwise things are going well for you though! No drama, is such a good thing.
I'm glad that you're still doing well. The doctor kept asking me the same question and I said, until I have this baby...I left work the Wednesday before I was due (Saturday)...because I just didn't want to be there anymore...I ended up being a week late...but I enjoyed not working.
ReplyDeleteRest up :) I'm so glad to hear that you and the little ones are doing well!!

ReplyDeleteI am SO exhausted too lately!! My job requires I walk 5-7 miles a day and I gotta tell ya, I'm really looking forward to maternity leave!! However, I am trying to hold off as long as possible! Glad you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteDamn that 2nd trimester energy for disappearing! :)
ReplyDeleteHope your next scan shows great results. What a bummer you can't stop working yet. Take care!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can really relate to that feeling! A few weeks ago, it was like I suddenly got hit with the Tired Stick again, and now, it's all I can do not to take several naps every day. I probably shouldn't fight it, but I know that I sleep better at night when I don't nap during the day. But of course, one night of bad sleep makes me want to nap even more the next day. It's a vicious cycle!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you working ladies do it! You are made of tough stuff! It sucks that you don't get maternity leave, but it's good that you at least have protection via FMLA.
I weighed myself this morning. GAH. I think I'm officially up by FORTY FIVE pounds. AAAAH. I'm really trying to take it in stride (it's all for the babies, right?), but all the same. Since the babies are supposed to start gaining half a pound each over all of the remaining weeks, I'm freaking out a bit!
Take good care.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you and sending you lots of energy.
