MOPS Night

Tonight was my first ever "night" MOPS meeting. MOPS = Mothers Of PreSchoolers.

I've enjoyed the fellowship of MOPS for the last four years...but I've always been a "morning only" mom. I've never been able to attend a night meeting. This might be last year to attend MOPS, as I have no little ones on the horizon at this time. Once Miss O. hits kindergarten, they'll kick me out.

The things I love about MOPS are simple. Coffee, food, and company. Women who get it, who understand how I feel when I can't even go to the bathroom alone. Answers for my stupid questions, like how to potty train, get rid of the Binky, and even how to pick a preschool. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful this group was to me and M. when I suffered my ectopic pregnancy. I never feel alone at these meetings, even when I don't know anyone.

We all have a common thread tying us together...and we're all a little crazy because of it! ;)

  1. I just recetly joined a MOPS group. I hope I figure out how to enjoy it. I am weirdly uncomfortable when it comes to these groups. I want so desparately to figure out how to join in the conversation and meet more people around here that have a child in the same age group - but for now, All I can seem to do is go and never really connect with anyone

  2. That so weird you mention MOPS. I had never heard of it and then Monday my sister tells me she joined this group called MOPS and she was nervous about it. I will have to tell her you really enjoy it. Thanks for comments...Tiny Timbo...LOL

  3. Ahhh - preschool. My youngest is there now and I find myself grateful that she has yet, another year after this before Kindergarten! My middle is in K now and WHEW - what a transition!!!

    Enjoy your meetings!

  5. Glad you were able to make it to a nightly meeting. I always wanted to join that but never had the cash for the membership fees. It sounds great though.

  6. Good for you for finding support in your MOPS group! I've explored these types of groups before, but can't seem to find a good fit yet.

So happy to read that you have found a great support group. I love being with people who 'get it'.
