And The Answer Is...

Negative.

I want to cry, scream, and hide...all at the same time.

In my heart, I knew that this would be the answer, but I just can't let go of a little hope. The good news, I have an answer. Although, I still have no sign of the witch. The bad news, I have an answer. Such a double edged sword infertility is.
And the nurse who called was so nonchalant about the whole thing. When I asked her how long I should wait before getting concerned about my lack of a period, and negative tests...she quickly answered, "Oh, if you don't get your period by the end of next week, take a home pregnancy test." Ugh.

How do you explain to someone the fear that rises in your chest when you think of even possibly being pregnant? If I could have reached through the phone and grabbed her shoulders, I would have. I would have shaken her silly, all the while screaming, "Do you realize I only have ONE tube?"

I don't have a lot of room for error at this point.

So, what's going on with you?

  2. So sorry :(

You aren't on progesterone or anything are you? I know that will delay your period.

I am sorry the nurse was not more understanding ((hugs))

  5. I am so sorry. While hope is a wonderful thing, it sure does make the pain so much sharper. Hugs to you.

I'd want to throttle that nurse, too. What an idiot.

  6. Oops....that is so sad. And the way the nurse spoke to you was pretty insensitive. You know, I was chatting up with somebody at my hospital and she said that "these things" are so commonplace for them that it is just the clinical aspect that the take cognizance of. I am lucky that this nurse was aware of it and did not give up on empathy. Good Luck to you.

and that nurse is mean. sometimes i don't think that they even consider what is coming out of their mouths and how it will be interpreted.

  8. *hugs* I'm sorry that you got a no, and that the nurse was less than supportive. It amazes me how oblivious they sometimes are.

  10. Hmmm, I'd like to think that not all nurses are so oblivious, but sometimes I do wonder...one of my former colleagues was in hospital for something recently and one of the nurses asked if she could see anything through her artificial eye. (!!!???) Fortunately Sally laughed, but you never quite know what you're going to get do you!?

Hope that all will be well with you.
